County Judge Eddie Trevino announced on January 23, 2018 that Cameron County has deployed its first round of electronic ticket writes. The project was a year-long project which is scheduled to wrap up with some officer training and go live on the streets in late January. All county constable precincts will be the first departments in the county to deploy the electronic ticket writers. The Justice of the Peace Courts funded the project from their technology fund and purchased 15 ticket writers. The cost to purchase these writers was approximately $78,000.00
County Constable Deputies will be using the e-citation software solution which provides the most technically advanced mobile electronic citation solution on the market today. Brazos is a fully functional electronic citation system that will connect to Odyssey, our current judicial software used by the courts. This eliminated paper to the courts and allows tickets to be sent to court electronically and immediately upon syncing the device.
